Auto Repair in Mission Viejo, CA: What to Look For

When it comes to the maintenance and repair of your vehicle, you want to take it to a mechanic that you can trust. Auto repairs can be pricey, so you want to ensure that you are taking your vehicle somewhere that you can trust to be honest with you regarding repair needs, and who can repair your vehicle properly in a timely and affordable manner. Let’s take a look at a few tips that may come in handy when seeking auto repair in Mission Viejo, CA.

If you are not currently having any issues with your vehicle, look for a repair shop anyways. If you search before a problem arises, you will be able to take your time to find a reliable, affordable shop and will not be rushed into making any last minute decisions that could affect the outcome of your vehicle repairs.

When it comes to auto repair in Mission Viejo, CA, new car repair shops can be just as reliable and trustworthy as shops that have been in business for many years. Having said that, if a repair shop has been in business for a long time, they must be doing something right! If you have received personal referrals to a new mechanic shop, feel free to try it out. If not, stick to a business that you know is doing a good job!

Before you decide on a mechanic shop, go there and check out the surroundings. Granted, you will never find a mechanic shop that is spotless – auto repair in Mission Viejo, CA is dirty work so a little grease and grime is just to be expected. Having said that, take a look inside their shop. Does everything have an appropriate place? Is there garbage on the floor? Are there tools all over the place? Good auto repair shops always take the safety of their mechanics into consideration, and when there is a mess on the floor their safety could be put in jeopardy.  And as a general rule – if they don’t care about their employees, they probably aren’t going to care too much about their customers either.

Call the shop or visit it in person. How do the staff and mechanics treat you? Are they knowledgeable and able to answer all of your questions? The number one priority of an auto repair shop should be the happiness of their customers. If they are committed to keeping you happy, you can ensure that their prices will be affordable and that they will do a great job of repairing your vehicle – the first time.

  1. I don't think you can judge a garage on their cleanliness. Some of the best mechanics that I've worked with have been messy, untidy individuals with great mechanical minds; the two often don't correlate. I'm a neat freak, and I don't know my carburettor from my clutch.
Having said that, the last garage I went to (Kingshurst Smiths Wood) was very neat and tidy and they did a great job so the rule can't apply to everybody; don't listen to me.
